Overview:


We are seeking an experienced Platform Support Engineer to join a fast-paced, enterprise environment supporting mission-critical integration platforms. This role sits within a newly established Integration Centre of Excellence and will be central to the setup, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide API Management, Event Streaming, and Microservices platforms.

This is a hands-on position where you’ll be instrumental in implementing and managing modern integration infrastructure, enabling development teams through self-service capabilities, and ensuring operational excellence through proactive monitoring, automation, and DevOps best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement, support, and improve Integration Platforms including API Management, Event Streaming (Kafka), and Microservices (Kubernetes).

  • Collaborate with partners to build and optimise platform solutions, ensuring scalability and reliability.

  • Provide Level 3 support for integration platform issues escalated from service operations.

  • Develop GitLab CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.

  • Drive platform adoption by simplifying developer experience and onboarding new consumers.

  • Create dashboards, monitoring, and alerting for proactive operations.

  • Deliver training and technical guidance to developers and stakeholders.

  • Support smooth project transitions into production support environments.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 6+ years in software development, preferably in integration domains (e.g., Java, Spring Boot).

  • 2+ years of hands-on AWS cloud experience.

  • Strong experience with containerised applications (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices platforms.

  • Proficiency in DevOps tools: GitLab, Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, New Relic, Prometheus.

  • Solid understanding of API management platforms and event streaming technologies (e.g., Confluent Kafka).

  • Experience with infrastructure as code and automation practices.

  • Familiarity with Linux systems administration and scripting (Python, Bash).

  • Excellent stakeholder communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Highly Regarded:

  • Experience operating Amazon EKS, GitOps workflows, or Apigee (or similar API gateways).

  • Knowledge of SonarQube, MongoDB, Postgres (RDS), ActiveMQ.

  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Background in aviation, travel, or large-scale enterprise environments.
