Planner

Talent International is currently recruiting a Planner to work for the NSW Government, based in Parramatta. The position is a 12-month contract role with the possibility of extension. The role pays $68.25/ hour + Super.

8 hours per day. 40 hours per week

Licenses: Driver’s License
Working from home: 5 days per fortnight. Required Office days are Tuesday and Thursday (additional office day at the candidate’s discretion).

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Planner to join the Assessment Team within the client. This team plays a critical role in providing high-quality planning advice, guiding projects from early inception through to approval.

You will be responsible for preparing Statements of Environmental Effects (SEEs) and Review of Environmental Factors (REFs), as well as participating in internal and external meetings. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate confidently with key stakeholders, including other Government agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide planning advice to support projects from initiation to approval
• Prepare SEEs, REFs, and other planning documentation
• Participate in meetings and liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Contribute to team milestones, deliverables, and project governance
• Support compliance with planning legislation, policies, and assessment frameworks
• Work collaboratively across the client and other Government agencies to achieve project outcomes

About You

You will bring strong experience and capability in planning, particularly within a government or residential development context.

Essential Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in Urban/Regional Planning or a related discipline
• Background in residential development assessment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prepare SEEs and REFs to a high standard
• Current Driver’s Licence

Desirable:

• Experience with Part 5 assessments
• Eligibility for membership with a relevant planning industry association
