Oracle DBA SME – Federal Government Project
Location: Sydney (Hybrid – 2 days office now, moving to 3 days from October, with some flexibility)
Contract: 10 months (through to 30 June 2026) + option to extend or go permanent
Rate: $70 p/h + super ($78.40 total)

What you’ll do
You’ll be part of the core DBA function ensuring uptime, performance, and reliability across production and non-production databases. Typical responsibilities include:

Supporting and maintaining Oracle 19C production databases.

Performing proactive health checks, monitoring, and issue resolution.

Managing backup/recovery, configuration, patching, refresh/restore, expdp/impdp, and Data Guard (physical) activities.

Handling user tickets and supporting code deployments.

Installing and configuring DBMS environments.
-
Providing documentation, input for process improvements, and collaborating with onshore/offshore DBA teams.

Contributing to a mission-critical, 24/7 environment, while your main hours will be 8:30am-5:30pm.
What you bring
We’re looking for someone with strong Oracle DBA fundamentals and the drive to work on enterprise-scale systems.
Essential:

4+ years’ experience as an Oracle DBA.

Production environment expertise with Oracle 19C.

Strong skills in Data Guard, database clustering, replication.

PLSQL & shell scripting proficiency.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have (but not essential):

Cloud exposure (Azure).

Oracle GoldenGate.
-
Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
