Seeking an experienced Senior Systems Analyst / ObjectStar Specialist to support the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise applications. You’ll provide technical leadership across ObjectStar development, solution design, maintenance, and modernisation initiatives, leveraging your expertise in ObjectStar, COBOL, and JCL within a complex technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
  • Produce technical specifications, system designs, and development documentation.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimise application code to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Conduct technical analysis and provide recommendations for solution design and implementation.
  • Support application integration, migration, enhancement, and maintenance activities.
  • Perform prototyping, development, unit testing, debugging, and deployment activities.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve complex technical issues within development and production environments.
  • Support release management, deployment activities, and post-implementation support.
  • Ensure solutions comply with established development standards, methodologies, security requirements, and best practices.
  • Contribute to risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities.
  • Assist with project planning, estimation, prioritisation, and delivery activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance development processes and system quality.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in software development and systems analysis.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise applications.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex technical requirements and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience working within structured software development lifecycles and Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
