Network Engineer
- Contract till June 2026, with possible longer-term extension.
- Must have a minimum Negative Vetting level 1, and there is a strong preference for NV2 clearance.

Avec Global, one of Australia’s fastest-growing consultancies, is building the “A-Team” in partnership with Defence research and science division. This elite group of consultants will work shoulder-to-shoulder with Defence science researchers to deliver mission-critical innovation, science and technology projects.
We are currently looking for Network Engineers to be responsible for undertaking the deployment, management and maintenance of a range of networking and cyber-security technologies, including Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco networking technologies.
Skills and Experience required:
Minimum of 5 years administering, managing and/or supporting more than one of the following:
- Cisco Routing and switching (NAC and 802.1x)
- Designing and implementing Cisco network solutions
- Configuring and supporting Cisco network equipment including routers and switches,
- Physical installation of routers and switches
- Configuring firewalls, routing and switching
- Next generation firewall (Palo Alto) technologies and ruleset reviews
- Fault diagnosis
- Experience or exposure to on premise cloud technologies is desirable
- Relevant Cisco Certifications
- Experience in designing or architecting network solutions including micro segmentation
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must have a minimum Negative Vetting level 1, and there is a strong preference for NV 2 clearance.
- Experience within Commonwealth Government, Defence, or a scientific research organization is highly desirable
