🏢 Network Architect – Contract | Sydney (NSW Government)
We are seeking an experienced Network Architect to join a large-scale NSW Government Critical Network Program, delivering a secure, resilient and scalable network environment supporting mission-critical public services.
This long-term program focuses on modernising legacy network infrastructure into a future-ready, enterprise-grade platform, enabling improved operational capability and supporting major digital transformation initiatives across NSW Government.
The scope includes site networking, network security, contact centre connectivity, corporate telephony and audio-visual services.
⚙️ Key responsibilities

Lead the architecture and design of enterprise network and security solutions

Act as design authority and technical subject matter expert across complex environments

Design and integrate modern network technologies, including SD-WAN, SD-Access and security platforms

Collaborate with architects, engineers, vendors and delivery teams to translate business and technical requirements into fit-for-purpose designs

Lead technical workshops and design forums, addressing complex design and integration challenges

Support the transition from legacy infrastructure to modern platforms, ensuring continuity of critical services

Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, governance frameworks and long-term strategy
🎯 About you

Extensive experience as a Network Architect or Senior Network Specialist in large, complex enterprise or government environments

Strong hands-on design experience with Cisco SD-WAN, SD-Access, DNAC, Firepower and ISE

Proven ability to design secure, scalable and highly available network architectures

Experience working across multiple concurrent workstreams and stakeholder groups
-
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at both technical and senior stakeholder levels
🎓 Certifications & eligibility

Cisco CCNP / CCIE (highly desirable)

Ability to obtain and maintain Baseline National Security Clearance
