Network Architect

Location: Parramatta & Sydney Olympic Park – Hybrid

Contract Duration: Until 30 June 2027

Pay Rate: $1,057.27 p/day incl. super

Position Overview:

The Network Architect will develop architectural artefacts, establish standards, and provide technical guidance for network solutions. The focus areas include Secure Internet Gateway, Cross Domain Gateway, Data Centre Networking, Software Defined Networking, Internet Connectivity, and Network Security. The role ensures alignment of network architecture with enterprise standards and major projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure, scalable network solutions in accordance with enterprise standards
  • Optimize network devices and infrastructure
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation and process enhancement
  • Support incident resolution and problem management within the network
  • Contribute to policy and strategy development for network performance
  • Promote adherence to industry standards and best practices
  • Support capability uplift initiatives as directed

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in network architecture and design
  • Proven experience in designing large, complex, and secure IT networks
  • Strong knowledge of network technologies and protocols (SDWAN, TCP/IP, BGP, VPN, IPSec, Routing, Switching)
  • Hands-on experience with network security tools (firewalls, IPS, VPN, proxies)
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure)
  • Solid understanding of architectural concepts and principles
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proficiency with MS Project and MS Office suite

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent
  • Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure Associate level)
  • ITIL v3 / TOGAF 9 (highly desirable)
  • Agile Foundations (highly desirable)
