Major & Commercial Loss Estimator
We are working with a leading, insurance builder to recruit an experienced Major & Commercial Loss Estimator to support the delivery of complex, high-value insurance claims.
This role will lead the estimating and cost management of major and commercial loss projects, from first site attendance through to tender submission and project delivery. You will work closely with insurers, loss adjusters, and internal construction teams to ensure commercial viability, quality outcomes, and strong claim conversion.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend major and commercial loss sites as a first responder
- Assess cause of damage and develop detailed scopes of work
- Prepare and submit tenders for complex insurance claims
- Build preliminary project schedules using Microsoft Project
- Manage costs, variations, and financial reporting across the claim lifecycle
- Forecast monthly sales and support budget and KPI achievement
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Engage with insurers, loss adjusters, consultants, and property stakeholders
- Support quality assurance, conversion rates, and estimating governance
- Ensure WHS compliance across all estimating and make-safe activities
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience estimating major and commercial loss insurance claims
- Strong building and construction estimating background
- Proven ability to manage complex, high-value projects
- Sound understanding of insurance contracts and claims processes
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong commercial, analytical, and problem-solving capability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Project
- Prime Ecosystem experience (preferred)
- Building, Construction Management, or trade qualification (Cert IV minimum)
