Maintenance Inspector- Civil Assets
Our client is seeking an Asset Inspector – Civil Infrastructure to support the inspection and maintenance of roads, footpaths, drainage, signage, and other civil assets across a local government municipality.
This is a hands-on, field-based role responsible for undertaking proactive and reactive asset inspections, identifying maintenance requirements, recording defects, and coordinating remedial works to ensure Council assets remain safe and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of roads, footpaths, drainage, signage, and other civil infrastructure
- Identify, assess, and record asset defects using Council asset management systems
- Coordinate immediate safety responses for high-risk defects where required
- Liaise with contractors and internal teams to facilitate maintenance works
- Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and customer requests
- Support the delivery of Council’s Road Management Plan and asset maintenance programs
Key Requirements
- Previous experience in civil infrastructure inspections, road maintenance, construction, or asset maintenance
- Understanding of road, drainage, footpath, and signage maintenance practices
- Ability to interpret construction plans and maintenance requirements
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office and electronic asset management systems
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
Highly Regarded
- Certificate III in Road Maintenance and Construction or similar
- Traffic Management accreditation
- Experience using Salesforce, Authority, or similar asset management systems
- Local Government experience
- Construction Induction (White Card)
