Lead User Researcher

  • Must be able to obtain Baseline security clearance
  • Strong experience in user research, stakeholder engagement, and user experience analysis

Join a high-impact government digital initiative focused on improving how users interact with critical procurement services. In this role, you’ll shape user-centred solutions that directly influence national digital platforms, ensuring services are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with real user needs.


Your duties will include:

  • Lead end-to-end user research activities from discovery through to delivery
  • Design and conduct research using methods such as interviews, usability testing, and data analysis
  • Translate research findings into actionable insights, reports, and recommendations
  • Develop artefacts including journey maps, personas, and wireframes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across delivery and policy areas
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to align research outcomes with business objectives
  • Advocate for user needs throughout the design and development lifecycle

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Proven experience leading user research initiatives in complex environments
  • Strong ability to plan, execute, and synthesise qualitative and quantitative research
  • Experience influencing stakeholders and managing relationships at senior levels
  • Expertise in user experience analysis and accessibility considerations
  • Ability to translate insights into practical design and policy improvements
  • Familiarity with service design and human-centred design principles
  • Previous experience in government or large-scale digital programs (desirable)
