Lead Tractions Systems Electrial Engineer – Perth Airport – Contract

Our client is a leading company in the mining industry, dedicated to innovation and sustainability. we are currently seeking an experienced Traction Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer Green Fleet Development, you will play a key role in delivering traction systems solutions for Rail Locomotives or Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) for our Green Fleet Development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver traction systems solutions for Rail Locomotives or Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) projects in a safe, timely, and sustainable manner.
  • Review and validate various traction system engineering designs/specifications and associated components.
  • Provide technical assistance on Electrical/Electronics Systems related works.
  • Develop technical specifications to meet project-specific objectives.
  • Review/mark up engineering drawings, documents, specifications, and scopes.
  • Resolve technical and design issues.
  • Proactively deliver on the company’s stretch targets.
  • Ensure compliance with the project management process by project owners.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects.
  • Provide regular updates to the Principal Electrical Engineer on work progress, risks, and priorities.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with Electrical systems engineering.
  • Strong product design and development experience and background.
  • Electrical/Electronics Engineering degree, preferably a qualification in Power Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
  • Experience with Rail Locomotives/Heavy mobile equipment is desirable.
  • Traction System or Power Electronics experience required.
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian/International standards and regulations associated with electrical design, installation, and testing.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams.
  • High commitment to safety.
  • Team leadership experience is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal awareness skills with the ability to work well in a team.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence.
  • Results-driven, responsible, and accountable.
  • Capable of prioritizing and delivering work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to adjust to change quickly and adapt to new requirements.
