We are seeking a talented Lead Traction Systems Engineer to spearhead the delivery of cutting-edge battery electric power systems. This position is based in the Eastern Metropolitan Perth area, offering an initial six-month contract with potential extensions or permanent placement opportunities.

As a Lead Traction Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing the mining industry through the development of Green Fleet initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include leading and delivering traction systems solutions for Rail Locomotives or Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) projects in a safe, timely, and sustainable manner.

Key Duties:

  • Lead and deliver Traction Systems solutions for Rail Locomotives or Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) for Green Fleet Development projects.
  • Review and validate various Traction System engineering designs/specifications and associated components.
  • Provide technical assistance on Electrical/Electronics Systems related works being carried out.
  • Develop technical specifications to meet project-specific objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical systems engineering.
  • Strong background in product design and development.
  • Electrical/Electronics Engineering degree, preferably with a qualification in Power Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
  • Experience with Rail Locomotives/Heavy mobile equipment is desirable.
  • Traction System or Power Electronics experience is required.
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian/International standards and regulations associated with electrical design, installation, and testing.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
