Lead Infrastructure Engineer

Contract | Hybrid working

Were looking for an experienced Lead Infrastructure Engineer where you’ll take high-level designs and turn them into clear, detailed implementation plans, then provide technical leadership and mentoring through build and execution.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys unblocking teams, lifting delivery quality, and ensuring infrastructure solutions are secure, well-designed, and operationally ready.

What you’ll be doing

  • Interpret solution designs and translate them into practical delivery plans (steps, dependencies, implementation detail)
  • Partner with engineering teams to troubleshoot, optimise, and refine infrastructure deployments
  • Upgrade and implement infrastructure solutions and services, ensuring they’re integrated and run effectively
  • Promote security, governance, and cost optimisation across delivery
  • Ensure implementations align with Well-Architected Framework principles
  • Document solutions and support knowledge transfer / capability

Your skills (what you’ll bring)

  • Demonstrated experience leading infrastructure engineering delivery end-to-end.
  • Strong ability to bridge architecture and engineering, turning design into executable plans.
  • Strong troubleshooting and optimisation capability in complex environments.
  • A governance mindset: security-by-design, cost awareness, and operational discipline.
  • Clear communication skills across engineers, architects, and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation and knowledge transfer habits.
