Senior Java Developer (Contract)
Location: ACT / NSW (Hybrid)
Duration: 12-month contract + 12-month extension
Hours: Part-time (approx. 27 hours per week)
Clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to support the delivery of application and infrastructure projects within a large enterprise environment.

This role will involve working on a Java-based system, contributing to both project delivery and ongoing enhancements in a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop custom reporting solutions based on business requirements
• Contribute to project delivery and BAU development activities
• Monitor progress and deliver work to agreed timelines
• Identify and manage risks in software delivery
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders
• Support continuous improvement of existing applications

Required Experience

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a Java Developer
• Experience working with enterprise or bespoke Java applications
• Strong experience with SQL and reporting solutions
• Experience integrating Java-based systems
• Ability to quickly understand and work within existing applications

Nice to Have

• Experience with reporting tools (e.g. Jasper Reports or similar)
• Familiarity with Java build tools (e.g. Apache Ant)
• Exposure to DevOps or task management tools
• Experience with MS SQL Server Reporting Services or similar
• Experience working in Agile environments
