About the role:

We’re partnering with a leading Australian organisation to recruit an experienced IT Vendor & Commercial Lead to join their Technology Strategy, Planning & Architecture team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in shaping technology sourcing decisions, managing strategic vendor relationships, and delivering commercial outcomes across a diverse enterprise technology portfolio. You’ll work closely with technology leaders, project managers, procurement, and external suppliers to negotiate commercial agreements, optimise vendor performance, and ensure the organisation achieves maximum value from its technology investments.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead commercial engagements for technology sourcing initiatives.
  • Manage end-to-end RFx processes, including RFPs, RFIs and RFQs.
  • Negotiate technology contracts, pricing, renewals and commercial terms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic technology vendors.
  • Provide commercial advice to project teams, platform owners and senior stakeholders.
  • Conduct market bench marking, cost analysis and vendor assessments.
  • Monitor supplier performance, contract compliance and service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve commercial outcomes and mitigate risk.
  • Partner with procurement and technology teams to ensure sourcing activities align with governance and business objectives.

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience in IT vendor management, technology procurement or commercial management.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Experience managing RFx activities (RFP, RFI, RFQ).
  • Knowledge of software licensing, cloud services, infrastructure and managed services.
  • Experience using ERP, procurement or Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse spend, identify savings and deliver value.
  • The confidence to engage with senior technology leaders, project managers and external suppliers.

  • Market bench marking and cost optimisation.
  • Cybersecurity, privacy and compliance considerations within technology contracts.
  • Experience working across complex multi-vendor enterprise environments.
