Delivering critical networking and telecommunications projects in alignment with the IT strategic roadmap. This role involves gathering and analysing requirements, evaluating design options, and producing comprehensive network designs. The engineer will configure and implement network and telecom solutions, coordinating with vendors and providing onsite support during go-live. Additionally, they will assess implementation risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate progress and issues effectively to stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement network solutions aligned with business requirements and technology strategy.
- Design, deploy and support telephony solutions to support unified communications
- Implement network security solutions, such as firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
- Perform regular network patching and maintenance to ensure systems remain secure and up to date
- Produce clear, comprehensive documentation covering designs, configurations, and implementation processes
- Manage and resolve incidents, service requests, project tasks, and technical problems within agreed timelines.
- Coordinate with third-party providers and support partners to deliver effective solutions across multiple technologies
- Deploy networking solutions on-site when necessary to support business operations or projects.
- Collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings to gather, clarify, and document business and technical requirements.
- Evaluate and analyse technology options, defining selection criteria and documenting assessments.
- Conduct thorough testing of business scenarios to ensure all functional and technical requirements are met.
- Implement and support RingCentral Phone System and NICE in Contact functionalities, including call routing, reporting, and integrations.
- Proactively identify, escalate and resolve issues or risks to minimise business impact and ensure service continuity.
- Provide on-call and out-of-hours support as needed to maintain service continuity.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Computer Science or related
- Strong hands-on experience in networking technologies including LAN,
- SD-WAN and Wi-Fi solutions
- Good understanding of the network security technologies including Palo Alto firewalls and VPN
- Experience with Voice, Mobile, Data and Satellite connectivity, including design, implementation, and support.
- Hands-on experience with networking hardware, firmware upgrades and troubleshooting across multiple vendor platforms.
- Expertise in managing external DNS records and working with DNS solutions such as Cloudflare or similar platforms, ensuring reliable and secure domain resolution.
- Proven ability to manage multiple project activities of varying complexity, meet deadlines, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of resolving complex network and infrastructure issues.
- Results-driven with strong attention to detail, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledgeable in cloud and internet services management, including DNS, networking, and security configurations.
