
IT Manager - Large Commercial Organisation

We’re partnering with a well-established organisation based on the Gold Coast, seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead their internal IT function. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing daily operations while also driving key business initiatives and projects.
The Opportunity
This role will see you take ownership of the organisation’s entire IT environment, with a core focus on maintaining and improving BAU operations across infrastructure, networks and business applications. Around 25% of your time will be dedicated to delivering business-led technology projects, including system upgrades, enhancements, and process improvements.
You’ll be working closely with internal stakeholders and a small IT support team, ensuring the technology environment supports business performance and future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day IT operations including infrastructure, networks, and business-critical applications.
- Lead a small internal IT team and external vendors to ensure system availability and performance.
- Deliver IT projects end-to-end (planning, execution, stakeholder engagement).
- Provide strategic guidance on technology improvements, risk, and cybersecurity.
- Maintain documentation, policies and procedures for IT governance.
- Ensure effective backup, disaster recovery, and security practices.
- Provide Level 3 support and guidance for complex technical issues.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as an IT Manager or similar leadership role.
- Strong hands-on background across infrastructure, networking (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi), cloud environments (e.g. Azure), and business applications.
- Demonstrated experience balancing operational IT needs with project delivery.
- Strong vendor management and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to influence, lead, and make decisions in a growing environment.
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL) desirable but not essential
