They work closely with other government agencies and service providers to develop policy to support government programmes, design and develop service delivery systems that make services accessible to all and provide payments and services that support all Australians to improve their circumstances and achieve greater self-sufficiency and quality of life.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team delivering critical ICT infrastructure services. As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing secure infrastructure solutions that support digital services. Your work will directly contribute to the organisation’s mission of delivering world-class technology and digital capabilities.

Your duties will include:

  • Designing and implementing secure mainframe infrastructure in a cyber security and fraud management context.
  • Managing and maintaining network infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, WLAN, firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • Overseeing computing infrastructure, including data centres, servers, and desktops.
  • Investigating and resolving complex infrastructure-related incidents and problems.
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with security administration procedures.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of security policies, standards, and documentation.

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Proven ability to co-design and define mainframe security in a cyber security context.
  • Strong experience managing large, complex ICT environments, including network and computing infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Expertise in interpreting technical requirements and developing solutions that meet business needs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mainframe security, including user access revalidation and super user activity monitoring.
  • Experience in cyber security, infrastructure, and fraud management is highly desirable.
