IT Architect
- IT policy & governance, IT controls (ISO 27001/NIST), and risk management
- 6-month contract with 2 x 6-month extension options
- Canberra location – hybrid
- Must hold minimum Baseline clearance
Our Client
Our Federal Government client is Australia’s principle revenue collection agency, primarily responsible for administering the federal taxation system and superannuation legislation, as well as managing and delivering a range of Australian government payment and loan schemes.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced IT Architect to shape and govern the technology landscape for a large, complex federal environment. In this role, you’ll sit within a Strategy, Design and Architecture function, developing enterprise-wide policies, standards and frameworks that ensure technology solutions are secure, compliant and aligned to current and future business needs.
Your duties will include:
- Developing and maintaining IT policies, standards and governance frameworks across the enterprise
- Reviewing and updating policies to align with legislation, IT controls and industry best practice
- Monitoring emerging technology and regulatory trends to keep the architecture landscape current and effective
- Partnering with stakeholders to identify gaps, gather insights and prioritise improvements in IT policy and architecture
- Providing expert policy and architecture advice to projects to ensure alignment with organisational objectives
- Designing and documenting enterprise architecture principles, standards and impact assessments for new technologies
Skills and Experience we are looking for:
- 8-10 years’ experience in IT architecture or related roles, including significant policy development exposure
- Proven experience developing and enforcing IT policies, standards and governance frameworks in complex environments
- Strong understanding of IT General Controls, ISO 27001, NIST and risk management practices
- Proficiency with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) and aligning architecture with organisational strategy
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build consensus across diverse groups
- Highly regarded: Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architect, ITIL and familiarity with ITIL practices (DR, incident and change management)
