Our Client

Our Federal Government client is Australia’s principle revenue collection agency, primarily responsible for administering the federal taxation system and superannuation legislation, as well as managing and delivering a range of Australian government payment and loan schemes.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Application Developer to lead the design and delivery of high-quality, cloud native applications within a large-scale enterprise data environment. You will play a key role in building scalable, resilient services that support critical platforms, driving sound architectural decisions and engineering best practice across the full delivery lifecycle.

Your duties will include:

  • Designing and delivering end-to-end cloud native applications using TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js
  • Leading API and microservice design, including contracts, versioning, and error handling standards
  • Developing containerised applications and supporting orchestration and deployment strategies
  • Implementing Test Driven Development practices across unit, integration, and contract testing
  • Leveraging AWS services including ECS, ECR, S3, SQS, CloudWatch, Kinesis Firehose, and IAM
  • Driving code reviews, mentoring developers, and contributing to API governance including Apigee

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript (preferred) or JavaScript, with deep Node.js experience
  • Proven experience designing and operating high throughput, high availability applications
  • Extensive AWS experience across ECS, SQS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM and related cloud native services
  • Demonstrated experience implementing TDD and establishing testing standards and quality gates
  • Experience designing scalable microservice architectures with strong focus on non-functional requirements
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and collaborate effectively with architects, DevOps, testers and product stakeholders
