Insurance Coordinator - Financial Accounting
This role coordinates insurance governance and compliance across the organisation. It provides high level support, analysis and reporting to ensure effective risk management. The position contributes to consistent claims processes and supports stakeholders with advice and risk mitigation strategies.
1 Insurance (95%)
1.1 Coordinates, administers and monitors the insurance risk and compliance function within the agency.
1.2 Provides high level support and advice for insurance matters.
1.3 Undertakes high-level research and complex analysis of insurance and financial issues, evaluates findings, develops options and prepares high quality reports.
1.4 Analyses insurance information (premiums and claims) and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
1.5 Conducts risk assessments of insurable risks and provides consultative support to stakeholders in the implementation of risk mitigating strategies.
1.6 Provides regular, effective reporting on insurance and compliance data and information.
1.7 Establishes and maintains a central source of information for all agency insurance claims and ensures a systematic and uniform approach to claims management across the agency.
1.8 Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders such as Risk Cover and insurance companies to understand insurance requirements, respond to queries and manage claim disputes.
1.9 Maintains an up-to-date knowledge and awareness of trends associated with insurance risk management and compliance strategies and frameworks.
1.10 Undertakes claims management processes, including resolution of complex disputes and coordination with insurers.
2 Other (5%)
2.1 Understands and complies with information security policies and procedures to ensure information holdings/systems are kept confidential and utilised accurately and reliably.
2.2 Demonstrates and advocates a high level of ethics and integrity in accordance with the agency’s professional standards and Code of Conduct including reporting wrongdoing.
2.3 Undertakes other duties as directed.
