Instructional Designer- Utilities

Our client is looking for an experienced Instructional Designer / Learning Consultant to join their team. They are a major utilities organisation, and this is contract engagement commencing in January. You will work across a broad portfolio of learning and capability uplift projects, designing effective training solutions that support system changes, operational requirements, and compliance needs.

This role blends instructional design with learning consultation, working closely with SMEs and project stakeholders to produce clear, engaging, and technically accurate learning materials across multiple formats.

Previous experience working within the utility industry will be highly regarded or strong experience supporting complex ERP system implementations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop learning materials across multiple mediums, including guides, workbooks, presentations, video content, and interactive eLearning
• Conduct learning needs analysis and convert complex technical processes into accessible, learner-focused content
• Develop structured instructional documentation using Microsoft Word
• Create polished presentations and storyboards using advanced PowerPoint skills
• Produce and edit video-based learning content, including scripting, recording, and post-production
• Build interactive eLearning modules using Articulate 360 or similar tools
• Consult with SMEs and operational teams to ensure learning outcomes are accurate, compliant, and aligned with business needs
• Support project teams with training delivery for new systems, processes, and capability initiatives

• Experience creating and editing video content (Camtasia or similar)
• Ability to design interactive eLearning modules using Articulate 360
• Experience working across multiple delivery formats (written, video, digital, blended)
