Key Responsibilities

  • Data Center Modernization: Oversee and architect the transition of the current on-premise estate from a mixed VMware/Nutanix/Commvault footprint into a unified, optimized Nutanix-only environment.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation: Drive the rollout of modern infrastructure automation. Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment frameworks using Terraform, GitHub, and DevOps best practices.

  • Hybrid Cloud Evolution: Architect and execute the long-term (3-5 year) hybrid strategy, migrating IT/Corporate environments to AWS (with targeted Azure integration for MS apps/Power BI) while maintaining a resilient on-premise footprint for critical infrastructure.

  • OT & Critical Infrastructure Engineering: Design and secure a robust private network infrastructure tailored for a high-availability Operational Technology (OT) environment encompassing Substations, SCADA, distribution, and outage management systems.

  • Identity & Network Lifecycle: Lead high-impact roadmap initiatives, including a comprehensive Active Directory (AD) upgrade over the next 2 years, major network replacement programs (MPLS), and the Richmond depot DC migration and site refurbishment.

  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Whiteboard complex architectural solutions and confidently present them to executive-level stakeholders in simple, business-aligned terms. Actively manage, challenge, and govern external vendors to ensure strict adherence to deliverables and SLAs.

Technical Capabilities & Experience Required

  • Core Infrastructure: Deep, hands-on architectural experience with Nutanix HCI, VMware vSphere, and enterprise backup solutions (Commvault).

  • Cloud & Hybrid Architecture: Proven track record deploying and managing AWS landing zones and hybrid-cloud topologies. Exposure to Azure (specifically supporting Power BI/MS apps) is highly regarded.

  • Automation/DevOps: Proficiency with Terraform, GitHub, and establishing automated CI/CD infrastructure pipelines.

  • Networking & OT Systems: Strong understanding of industrial/utility environments, including private networks, MPLS, SCADA, and critical infrastructure security.

  • Identity Services: Experience leading complex, enterprise-wide Active Directory (AD) upgrade or migration programs.
