The Role

This is a senior delivery leadership role at the centre of a large-scale Identity and Access Management (IDAM) migration program within a leading Australian institution. Working across a complex technology landscape with multiple stakeholders, you will own program delivery from planning through to go-live, ensuring migration milestones are achieved on time, risks are actively managed, and the transition to new IDAM services is seamless for staff and students. The role requires someone who understands both the technical and organisational dimensions of IDAM migrations, and who can operate with confidence and authority across delivery, vendors, and senior stakeholders in a university environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the end-to-end delivery of the IDAM migration program, developing and maintaining the program plan, managing milestones, risks, and issues, and ensuring delivery aligns to defined scope, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination across internal technology teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors, managing dependencies, resolving blockers, and maintaining delivery momentum across all workstreams.
  • Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks, reporting cadences, and escalation pathways, providing senior leadership and steering committees with clear, accurate, and timely visibility over program progress.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across academic, administrative, and technology functions, translating complex IDAM migration concepts into clear communications and ensuring alignment and readiness at every stage of delivery.
  • Champion change and transition readiness, partnering with technical leads and business owners to ensure migration activities are well-sequenced, service continuity is maintained, and go-live is supported by effective cutover and hypercare planning.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Demonstrated experience leading the delivery of complex IDAM or identity services migration programs, with hands-on exposure to Okta and a strong understanding of IDAM principles, directory services, authentication protocols, and access provisioning within enterprise environments.
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale technology programs within the higher education sector, with a solid understanding of the operating environment, stakeholder landscape, and governance requirements of Australian universities.
  • Strong program and project management capability, including experience applying structured or agile delivery methodologies, managing integrated program plans, and delivering across multi-vendor and cross-functional environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently at executive and senior leadership level, distil complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences, and navigate competing priorities diplomatically.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risk, interdependencies, and delivery complexity across long-horizon programs, including experience in transition and cutover planning, hypercare management, and embedding new services into business-as-usual operations.

What’s in it for You

  • Initial 6-month contract with potential for extension based on performance and business need.
  • Eastern Suburbs location with a hybrid working arrangement.
  • High-impact delivery leadership role at the centre of a strategic IDAM migration program within a large, purpose-driven institution.
  • Work within a collaborative technology environment with genuine scope to shape how a complex migration program is structured and delivered.
