The Role

Join a nationally significant Defence program contributing to the design and delivery of complex, secure ICT systems that safeguard Australia’s defence capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence the security posture of mission-critical systems and play a key part in ensuring compliance with Defence frameworks and standards.

Your duties will include:

  • Embedding security-by-design across ICT systems aligned with ISM, DSPF, ACSI, and Defence standards
  • Conducting risk assessments and managing treatment plans to address threats and vulnerabilities
  • Developing and maintaining documentation to support accreditation and Authority to Operate processes
  • Providing expert advice on ICT security principles to engineering and leadership teams
  • Reviewing security documentation and ensuring compliance with Defence frameworks
  • Liaising with Defence and industry stakeholders to align security requirements and practices

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Minimum 10 years’ IT experience with a focus on information or cyber security, preferably within Defence
  • Strong knowledge of Defence ICT security frameworks and accreditation processes
  • Experience working with ASD, CIOG, CASG, or similar Defence agencies
  • Hands-on experience in Certification, Risk and Vulnerability Management, and Information Assurance
  • Familiarity with NIST, ISO/IEC 27000, and related frameworks, plus DevSecOps and Agile delivery methods
  • IRAP Assessor and/or DRAP certification (or working towards) highly desirable
