ICT Cost & Financial Management Specialist | Federal Government Intelligence Agency
Canberra (Russell Offices) | TSPV Required | 12 months + extensions

This role sits within a specialist Product Management Office supporting the sustainment of mission-critical GEOINT systems in a highly classified environment.

You’ll be working at the intersection of ICT and finance – helping shape how complex systems are funded, monitored and sustained over time. The focus is not on delivery, but ensuring ongoing capability is financially controlled, understood and defensible at the governance level.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and maintain ICT sustainment financial plans and forecasts (annual and forward years)
  • Monitor expenditure against approved budgets and identify variances
  • Analyse cost drivers, trends and financial risks across ICT systems
  • Provide clear financial advice to technical and program stakeholders
  • Produce financial reporting and artefacts for governance forums
  • Support cost modelling and optimisation activities
  • Engage across PMO, ICT teams and finance to support decision-making

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in ICT financial management, cost modelling or budgeting
  • Ability to work with technical teams and translate costs into meaningful insights
  • Experience in government, Defence or similarly structured environments
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders (EL2/SES level)

Desirable:

  • ICT enterprise cost analysis experience
  • Experience working in classified environments

The environment

  • Based at Russell Offices, Canberra
  • Highly structured, governance-driven setting
  • Focus on sustainment of operational systems, not greenfield delivery
  • Limited flexibility (considered case-by-case)
  • No regular overtime required
  • Some domestic travel may occur

Clearance

  • TSPV clearance is mandatory.

This is a strong fit for someone who wants to move beyond transactional finance work and play a more active role in how ICT capability is funded and sustained within a national security environment.
