Hydraulics Engineer
Location: Port Kembla
Rate: $105 per hour
Contract: 6-12 months

We’re currently seeking an experienced Fluid Power Engineer (Hydraulics Engineer) to join a major industrial project, supporting delivery across multiple workstreams within a complex engineering environment.
This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for contributing to the design, coordination, and delivery of fluid power systems across key project packages.
The Role
You will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of fluid power engineering components, including:
- Supporting the design, integration, and delivery of hydraulic systems
- Working across pumps, motors, and industrial equipment
- Contributing to design reviews, engineering documentation, and technical problem solving
- Supporting procurement, scheduling, and cost tracking activities
- Assisting with installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction, and operations
- Ensuring compliance with safety, engineering standards, and project requirements
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 5-10 years’ experience in fluid power / hydraulics engineering
- A relevant engineering degree or diploma (mechanical, mechatronics or similar)
- Strong experience working with:
- Hydraulic systems
- Pumps and motors
- Industrial or heavy engineering equipment
- Experience working on large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects
- Ability to work across multiple project areas and disciplines
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Nice to Have
- Experience in heavy industrial environments (e.g. steel, mining, manufacturing)
- Exposure to design tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.)
- Experience with commissioning or construction phases
