Role Title: HSEC Coordinator

Contract Length: Initial contract until December 2026

This position plays a key part in assisting with the planning, monitoring, and execution of construction activities to ensure all work is undertaken safely and environmental controls are effective. The HSEC Coordinator will help minimise job-related risks, strengthen the project’s safety culture, and ensure risk management and safe systems of work are embedded across all project phases.

The role is critical to maintaining clear communication and reporting within the project team, ensuring alignment with the client’s engineering and safety framework and broader project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Demonstrate Safety Leadership

* Maintain awareness of governing HSEC management plans and apply responsibilities accordingly.

* Promote and maintain a safe and healthy workplace in accordance with company policies and applicable laws and standards.

* Actively contribute to the project’s HSEC program and safety behaviours.

Demonstrate Environmental Leadership

* Support and maintain environmental controls for all construction activities.

* Ensure compliance with environmental management plans and relevant regulatory standards.

Contribute to Construction Planning and Execution

* Assist in developing and communicating the Project Safety Management Plan and Job Safety Environment Analysis (JSEA).

* Ensure compliance with statutory consent conditions.

* Conduct daily safety audits and monitor compliance with company procedures.

* Identify and mitigate risks proactively through regular site engagement and collaboration with construction teams.

* Participate in construction risk management and engineering reviews.

Monitoring & Reporting

* Report and investigate incidents and ensure timely close-out.

* Maintain and communicate project safety statistics (AI / MTI / LTI).

* Monitor and report on audit performance and compliance with safety standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

* Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related discipline.

* Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) preferred.

* Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in heavy industry (construction, manufacturing, mining, or civil).

* Proven experience supporting construction projects with a strong HSEC focus.

* Skilled communicator capable of building alignment and consensus across teams.

* Strong understanding of construction risk identification and management with a zero-harm mindset.

* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) and solid report-writing ability.

* Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental Regulations.
