HS&E Supervisor - Long Term Contract

Talent International, a leading Australian recruitment firm, have been engaged by our long-standing client, a leading ASX-listed manufacturer. We are seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) Supervisor for a major long-term industrial project based in Port Kembla.

Role Title: HS&E Supervisor

Contract Length: Initial 12-month contract (highly likely to extend; work secured through to 2032)

Location + WFH Flexibility: Port Kembla | Full-time, on-site (Mon-Fri, some weekend work required)

Competitive Hourly Rate: up to $60 an hour

Role Details:

  • Support the Construction Team by proactively identifying safety risks and issues on-site.
  • Conduct weekly site inductions for contractors and manage the Comply Flow induction process.
  • Monitor day-to-day Health, Safety & Environmental compliance through site presence and audits.
  • Participate in construction risk management and engineering reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with contractors to ensure safe systems of work are in place.
  • Review contractor governance, including participation in weekly meetings and monthly reporting.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • Minimum 5 years’ professional experience within the construction or similar heavy industry sectors (civil, manufacturing, mining, heavy vehicles).
  • At least 2 years’ success in a dedicated HS&E role.
  • Hands-on experience supporting civil construction projects preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience or willingness to contribute to the development of Environmental Safety Management Plans and SWMS.
  • Either fully qualified in health and safety or undertaking qualifications (early-career professionals welcome with the right mindset and attitude).
  • Must be culturally aligned, collaborative, and open to mentoring relationships.
