Our client requires a HSE Advisor who has experience in high-risk environments to support them on a 6-month project. This role is based in regional New South Wales. Experience working in energy, gas or mining industry will be highly regarded with a focus on Solar farm or BESS projects.
Facilitate, develop, and provide relevant safety information and communications to site leadership team for toolbox briefings, inductions, and prestart briefings

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Facilitate, develop, and provide relevant safety information and communications to site leadership team for toolbox briefings, inductions, and prestart briefings
  • Assisting in the continuous development of procedures, plans, and documents.
  • Conducting site inspections and audits to ensure the projects compliance.
  • Liaising with internal & external stakeholders including contractors, suppliers, management, and project team members.
  • Lead incident investigations and provide recommendations to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Promote a culture of safety through training, workshops, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Prepare and present HSE performance reports to senior management.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations and provide recommendations to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Promote a culture of safety through training, workshops, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices within the utility industry or similar high-risk industries.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • 3 years+ experience in a similar HSEQ role
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable
  • Ability to commit to FIFO Roster with 2/1 Swing
