Senior HR Business Partner
6-Month Fixed-Term Contract with the view for extension
Salary: $112,111 – $126,297 + Super (pro rata)
Location: Moonee Ponds | Hybrid Working (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH)
We are partnering with a well-established local council, seeking an experienced Senior HR Business Partner with a strong background in Industrial Relations (IR) and Employee Relations (ER) to join their People & Culture team on a 6-month fixed-term basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded HR professional who thrives in complex workplace environments and enjoys partnering with leaders to deliver practical, people-focused outcomes. This role will encompass the full HR lifecycle but will also focus on Industrial Relations.
About the Role
Reporting into senior leadership within the People & Culture function, you will provide strategic and operational HR support across a broad portfolio, with a key focus on:
- Industrial and employee relations matters
- Workplace investigations and case management
- Performance management and disciplinary processes
- Interpretation and application of awards, agreements, and employment legislation
- Coaching and advising leaders on people-related matters
- Supporting organisational change initiatives
- Contributing to workforce planning and HR strategy
About You
You are a confident and pragmatic HR professional with proven experience managing complex IR/ER matters in a fast-paced environment.
You will bring:
- Experienced in a Senior HRBP or HR advisory role
- Strong IR/ER capability and working knowledge of employment legislation
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Demonstrated experience managing sensitive workplace matters
- A collaborative and solutions-focused approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building capability
