A State Government body is seeking an experienced ICT Technical Officer to join their Corporate Services division. This role plays a critical part in supporting essential public services including housing assistance, homelessness support, local government advisory services, regional planning, public works, and industry regulatory reform. Your contribution will help make a difference in the community every single day.

Reporting to the Team Leader – Identity Management & MS365, you’ll join a collaborative team of ICT specialists responsible for maintaining and supporting a large and complex technology environment. The department’s infrastructure is primarily Microsoft-based with some Linux systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and support of ICT infrastructure across a variety of technologies, including:

    • Operating Systems: MS Windows Server, RedHat Linux

    • Active Directory

    • Virtualisation: Azure, VMware

    • Networking: TCP/IP, LAN, WAN fundamentals

    • Scripting: PowerShell, JSON, Bicep

    • Azure DevOps

    • Server Management:

      • Patching (SCCM, AUM)

      • Backup and Restore (Azure Recovery Services Vaults, Networker, VEEAM)

      • Monitoring (Azure Monitor)

      • Lifecycle management

  • Provide responsive incident and problem resolution to minimise disruptions and meet performance targets.

  • Offer advice and support to stakeholders at all levels relating to information systems and infrastructure operations.

  • Contribute to a customer-focused culture, ensuring adherence to quality processes and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate effectively within the Server Team, supporting colleagues and contributing to shared outcomes.
