Graph Engineer

Location: Sydney CBD, 3 days per week on-site (Hybrid)

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled engineer to support the development of a connected data platform that enables advanced analytics and intelligent automation across the business. This role focuses on building scalable data solutions that capture relationships between datasets and make them accessible for downstream use. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimise data services that power key business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build scalable data platforms that support relationship-driven datasets
  • Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines integrating multiple structured and unstructured sources
  • Implement efficient query layers and APIs to enable flexible data access and analytics
  • Optimise data storage, indexing, and performance across large-scale datasets
  • Collaborate with architects and domain experts to align data models with business needs
  • Contribute to best practices around data modelling, governance, and platform design

Required Skills / Experience:

  • 3-5+ years’ experience in data engineering, backend engineering, or similar roles
  • Strong experience working with complex data models and non-relational data systems
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and integration
  • Experience building and optimising data pipelines across multiple sources
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tools (e.g. Git, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform)
  • Ability to design performant data access patterns and query solutions

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to graph or semantic data technologies
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Understanding of data modelling techniques for highly connected datasets
  • Experience supporting analytics, AI, or machine learning use cases
