Government Relations Advisor (Part-Time – Contract)
An exciting opportunity is available for a highly skilled and strategic Government Relations Advisor to join a leading organisation on a part-time contract basis. This is a key role supporting the external communication of high-impact strategic initiatives, with a strong focus on influencing government policy and securing public investment.
About the Role:
The role involves positioning major projects within government and budgetary frameworks, driving support through strategic engagement with policymakers and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure advocacy is aligned with strategic planning goals.
- Provide advice to senior leadership on evolving policy landscapes and legislative developments.
- Prepare briefing notes, presentations, and communication materials that clearly convey strategic priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, Ministers’ offices, and local authorities.
- Advise on negotiation, communication, and engagement approaches to influence policy and funding outcomes.
- Represent the organisation in government relations forums and contribute to strategic engagement activities.
Key Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Extensive experience in public policy and government relations.
- Strong understanding of the political environment and budgetary processes.
- Demonstrated success engaging with government stakeholders at all levels.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and project management capabilities.
This flexible part-time position (16 to 24 hours per week) offers a competitive hourly rate with working days negotiable based on business needs.
