Governance Secretariat Support Officer
Talent International is currently recruiting for an experienced Governance & Secretariat Support Officer to provide high-level secretarial and governance support and join one of our public sector clients in Sydney. This position is an urgent initial 10 month contract role paying up to $650.00 per day plus superannuation.
About the Role:
This role will oversee approximately 12 committees, sub-committees and project boards. The Governance & Secretariat Support Officer will be reporting to the Governance Lead, this role requires a highly organised professional who can work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and operate confidently within formal governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:

End-to-end secretariat support for committees and project boards

Preparation of agendas, board papers, briefing packs and correspondence

Accurate minute taking and tracking of actions and decisions

Managing committee schedules, calendars and governance workflows

Maintaining governance registers and document control

Supporting continuous improvement of governance processes
Essential Requirements:

Understanding of board and committee protocols (quorum, delegations, conflicts of interest)

Strong administrative and secretariat experience

Exceptional attention to detail and documentation accuracy

Confident communicator with senior executives and stakeholders

Ability to manage multiple deadlines in high-pressure governance cycles

Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, SharePoint)
Desirable Skills:

Experience in a higher education or public sector environment would be advantageous
