Talent International, a leading Australian recruitment firm, has been engaged by our long-standing client, a highly regulated ASX-listed organisation. We are seeking a General Manager – Financial Crime to join on a permanent basis.

Role Title: General Manager – Financial Crime

Employment Type: Permanent

Location + WFH Flexibility: Hybrid model – 3 days in office, 2 days WFH

Salary Package: $380,000 inclusive of superannuation + 20% bonus

Client Industry: Highly regulated, ASX-listed environment

Interview Process: Multi-stage process including Executive Leadership and key stakeholders

Role Details:

Reporting to the Group Chief Risk Officer, this is a critical executive leadership role responsible for leading and maturing the Financial Crime Risk function.

The organisation has completed the bulk of its remediation, design and implementation workstreams, and is now transitioning the function into a stable, embedded and business-as-usual (BAU) operating model.

You will lead a team of approximately 20-30 direct reports, including senior leaders, project managers and analysts, and will play a key role in executive, board and regulatory engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

* Embedding and stabilising the Financial Crime Risk framework into true BAU operations

* Leading and developing a high-performing, multi-layered team

* Providing confident, timely decision-making in a complex and highly regulated environment

* Presenting to the Board, executive committees and regulators

* Ensuring ongoing compliance with financial crime obligations, including AML/CTF requirements

* Continuing to mature policy, program and governance frameworks

Required Skills and Experience:

* Extensive Financial Services experience within financial crime, AML/CTF or broader risk leadership

* Deep expertise in financial crime policy, frameworks and program management

* Experience aligned to AMLCO responsibilities or direct exposure to AMLCO requirements

* Proven ability to lead and develop large teams (20+ preferred, slightly smaller considered)

* Strong executive presence with experience presenting to Board and regulators

* A technically strong, thoughtful leader who can balance stakeholder engagement with decisive action
