The role:

This is a hands-on Frontend Engineering role focused on building the interface layer of a highly technical, data-driven product. You’ll work directly with the founders and backend engineers to design and deliver scalable, high-performance applications.

It’s a true product role – owning what you build end-to-end, with exposure to complex financial workflows and real client problems.

This environment will suit intellectually curious engineers who enjoy understanding how systems work beneath the surface, solving difficult problems from first principles, and building products with long-term scalability in mind.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own and develop the design system end-to-end
  • Build data-heavy UI features (dashboards, tables, workflows)
  • Develop high-performance charting and visualisation layers
  • Work closely with backend engineers on API and data integration
  • Translate complex financial data into clean, functional UI
  • Contribute across the full product lifecycle

Skills and experience:

  • Strong academic background required
  • Strong frontend engineering experience with React + TypeScript
  • Proven experience building and owning design systems
  • Experience working with complex data (tables, charts, dashboards)
  • Strong understanding of frontend ↔ backend integration
  • Ability to think beyond UI – performance, scalability, data flow
  • Background in product or engineering-led environments (Big Tech or similar highly regarded
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capability

Our client is particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate exceptional intellectual capability through academic achievement or other strong indicators, such as:

  • High Distinction or First Class Honours results
  • Advanced degrees
  • Mathematics, programming or science olympiads and competitions
  • Academic scholarships or merit-based awards
  • Teaching, tutoring or research experience
  • CFA or other rigorous quantitative qualifications
  • Significant technical side projects, entrepreneurial ventures or open-source contributions

Above all, they value engineers who demonstrate deep technical understanding, first-principles thinking and the ability to reason through complex systems and problems independently
