Finance and Administration Officer
We are looking for an experienced Finance and Administration Officer to become the in-house go-to person across finance administration, accounts and payroll for a membership-based organisation. You’ll join a small yet high-achieving team delivering significant outcomes for its members and wider sector.
This is a hands-on operational role, working closely with the organisation’s external financial advisers across day-to-day financial processing, records, payroll administration, routine queries and agreed finance processes.
In this role you will get to:
- Manage day-to-day finance processing, including AP, AR, invoicing, payments, reconciliations and expense claims.
- Support month-end and annual budgeting processes, ensuring accurate records and timely information is provided to external financial advisers.
- Manage payroll administration, including payroll processing, employee data, leave records and reconciliations.
- Monitor and manage debtors, payments and cash-flow information.
- Support annual audit and compliance processes, ensuring financial records and supporting documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Be an integral part of a small team, helping keep the office running smoothly across suppliers, systems, facilities, and general administration.
With a new CRM and projects underway across financial system integration and optimisation, this is an exciting time to join the organisation. You’ll have the opportunity to support these changes, working alongside the CEO, external advisers and wider team to help bring improvements to life.
What we are looking for:
- A solid foundation of experience in finance administration, accounts, payroll or bookkeeping; ideally at least three years’ experience.
- Hands-on experience across AP, AR, bank reconciliations, payroll and month-end processes.
- A good understanding of financial processes, controls and compliance, with experience preparing information for accountants, auditors or external financial advisers.
- Strong systems capability, particularly Excel, with experience using accounting and payroll systems; Xero, Stripe and iPayroll would be an advantage.
- Excellent administration, organisation and record-management skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- High levels of integrity, discretion and sound judgement, alongside the confidence to build a strong working relationship with external financial advisers, and senior leaders.
As an integral part of a small team, you’ll be a warm, practical and approachable person who brings financial expertise while also being willing to pitch in and contribute to a positive, forward-thinking team culture.
