A fantastic opportunity awaits an experienced Executive Assistant to join the close-knit team at Local Government New Zealand. As the EA to the CEO, you will play a pivotal role in providing all aspects of executive and administrative support. Working within a high-trust, collaborative culture you will play a critical role supporting the CEO to optimise their effectiveness and efficiency.

About the role

As the right-hand person to the Chief Executive, your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategically managing their priorities and diary on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Ensuring they are well prepared for meetings, and having the appropriate information to hand
  • Triaging and responding to emails on their behalf
  • Organising meetings, travel and accommodation
  • Turning your hand to whatever else is needed to ensure that they are best placed to get on with their day

Furthermore, you will act as the secretary to the National Council (Board). This includes:

  • Scheduling meetings, travel and accommodation
  • Preparing and distributing meeting papers
  • Attending meetings and taking minutes.
  • Organising and communicating with external speakers and attendees
  • Providing administrative support to the National Council President and Vice President.

  • Proven experience in a support role at an executive level
  • Discreet, with the ability to exercise good judgement and maintain confidentiality
  • Confidence to anticipate needs and respond accordingly
  • Common sense with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and adjust to last-minute changes.
