This person will have 2-3 years’ experience in events and be seeking a new role where they can apply their skills in logistics, attention to detail and multi-tasking, with learning, growth and development opportunities. Working within a fast-paced environment, this role supports the Events and Sponsorship Manager to deliver business events that result in a positive experience for LGNZ members.

Te āhua o te tūrunga | The nature of the role
LGNZ prides itself on the delivery of a range of bespoke, high-quality business events, such as their annual conference, which continues to grow, attracting between 600 – 800 delegates, alongside other member events throughout the year.
With members at the heart of everything they do, LGNZ consistently aims to exceed their members’ expectations.
Reporting to and supported by the Events and Sponsorship Manager, you will grow your skills by:
- Assisting in planning, organising, and hosting business events
- Co-ordinating all aspects of event logistics. This will include booking venues, travel and accommodation, pack-in and out, troubleshooting at the event, speaker briefings and pre-event run throughs.
- Liaising with suppliers, partners, exhibitors, speakers, and stakeholders – ensuring they are well informed, and all mutually agreed deliverables are met.
- Collaborating with the wider LGNZ team to ensure they are well informed about upcoming events, engaging the different skills and expertise across the team to support event success.
- Managing a diverse range of event inquiries with a member-centric lens.
- Undertaking a wide range of event administrative tasks, including email and calendar management, name tag duty, spreadsheet creation, planning and more!

This is an all-encompassing, broad and busy business events role for someone who is at their best juggling multiple priorities and working to tight deadlines. To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 2-3 years’ experience in event coordination
- Commitment to providing exceptional service and experiences for clients
- Strong communication skills, with a readiness to pick up the phone when necessary
- Demonstrated experience in effective multi-tasking and problem solving
- An eye for detail
- A genuine passion and interest in events coupled with a strong desire to learn and grow your events network and knowledge
- A willingness to pitch in – for you no task is too small, or too big!
