This is a brand-new role at Melton City Council that has been created to support the evolving strategic priorities

Melton City Council are seeking an experienced and talented Enterprise Architect to join the team to lead the design of the technology overhaul that will shape the future.
This role will be responsible for developing and implementing an information and technology architecture strategy that supports the digital transformation, enhances service delivery, and accelerates innovation across the organisation.

Position Objectives:

  • Develop a comprehensive IT Architecture Strategy and Architecture Practice that aligns with the organisation’s digital transformation goals.
  • Establish an actionable Enterprise Architecture Roadmap to manage business end-to-end service provision.
  • Proactively improve enterprise architecture by anticipating business challenges and leveraging emerging technologies, empowering new ways of working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design an enterprise architecture framework encompassing business processes, data, integration, and identity access management technology.
  • Provide expert guidance to business and IT teams to deliver connected, “fit-for-purpose” solutions.
  • Guide architectural evaluations for RFPs, proofs of concept, and project sequencing to achieve strategic goals.
  • Maintain existing enterprise architecture using industry standards and best practices.
  • Build relationships with business and IT stakeholders, providing leadership and shaping technology strategies.
  • Prioritise projects and advise on strategic decisions to implement the architecture roadmap.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proven experience working as an Enterprise Architect in medium-to-large technology transformations programs.
  • Proficiency in TOGAF or other industry-standard architecture frameworks
  • High-level communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organisational levels.
  • Strong skills in analysing customer needs and translating them into actionable architectural solutions.
  • Expertise in creating clear architecture documents, reports, and policies.
  • Tertiary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related IT fields
  • Valid Victorian driver’s licence is required.
