Electronics Technician – Biomedical

Job Summary / Overview

A 3 month initial contract opportunity is available for an experienced Electronics Technician to maintain, repair and support a wide range of specialised biomedical equipment used in a clinical environment. Working within a quality-focused team, you will help ensure medical equipment remains safe, reliable and available to support patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair and fault finding on specialised biomedical equipment.
  • Conduct quality assurance and performance testing of medical devices.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using the Asset Management System.
  • Provide technical advice and equipment training to clinical staff.
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and ISO9001 requirements.
  • Assist with medical equipment networking and software installation.
  • Participate in the after-hours emergency maintenance roster.
  • Assist with departmental stores and inventory management.
  • Complete internal quality audits and maintain quality documentation.
  • Design and construct electronic hardware when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced Certificate in Electronics or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing biomedical or medical electronic equipment.
  • Experience with software installation, medical computer networks and fault finding.
  • Strong understanding of quality management principles and continuous improvement.
  • Well-developed communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
