Electrical Designer – Perth Airport – Contract

Our client is a leading company in the mining industry, dedicated to innovation and sustainability. We are currently seeking a talented Electrical Designer to join our team. As an Electrical Designer, you will play a crucial role in designing a cutting-edge Heavy Mobile Equipment Fast Charging facility, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, auxiliary systems, and DC power systems for battery electric vehicles.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Design and develop DC power systems for specific applications, including component selection such as batteries, inverters, and charge controllers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems into larger projects.
  • Provide drafting support for prototypes of power electronic systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers for seamless integration.
  • Assist in cost estimation for electrical components and systems.
  • Participate in testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of electrical designs.

Qualifications And Experience:

  • Electrical or Electronics Engineering diploma or degree.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in design & drafting.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD for electrical design.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematic drawings, Cable Lists, Block Diagrams, Terminal Drawings, Reports & BOMs.
  • Experience with DC power component selection and power distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with different types of inverters and controllers.
  • Proven experience in designing power electronic circuits and systems.
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
