EL1 Technical Security Risk Advisor | Canberra ACT | Contract Duration: ASAP until December 2026

As an EL1 Technical Security Risk Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the security landscape across various sites in Australia. You will lead comprehensive Security Risk Assessments (SRAs) and audits, ensuring the safety and security of our operations. About the Role
In this role, you will lead the planning and delivery of Security Risk Assessments across multiple sites, identifying vulnerabilities and implementing improvements aligned with best practices. You will establish a national site risk register, ensure compliance with security frameworks, and develop tailored security plans that encompass safety and accessibility considerations. Your technical expertise will guide the implementation of state-of-the-art security systems and operational policies, improving overall security readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Security Risk Assessments, audits, and physical security reviews.
  • Develop and maintain Site Security Plans addressing safety and security.
  • Provide technical advice on security systems, including access control, CCTV, and alarms.
  • Establish a national site risk register with timely updates on risk statuses.
  • Create and implement testing regimes to ensure security efficacy.
  • Oversee collaboration with internal and external teams to enhance security operations.
  • Review and update security policies reflecting emerging risks and technologies.
  • Contribute to security incident evaluations for continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in physical and technical security within regulated environments.
  • Proven track record in conducting Security Risk Assessments and audits.
  • Expertise in developing security documentation and operational procedures.
  • Strong understanding of electronic security systems and infrastructure.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and deliver high-quality results autonomously.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience in preparing assurance reports.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or professional accreditation in security or risk management.

  • Security Clearance: Baseline clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain).
