EL1 Scrum Master
Talent International is currently recruiting for an EL1 Scrum Master to work for one of our Federal Government clients based in Surry Hills. The position is a 12-month contract role with the possibility of extension. The role pays $900 per day + Super.
7.5 hours per day and 37.5 hours per week
About the Opportunity
This role sits within a high-performing ICT delivery environment, contributing to large-scale, complex projects that support the delivery of a nationally significant program.
You’ll play a key leadership role in driving Agile practices, enabling high-performing scrum teams, and ensuring successful delivery outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and lead multiple Scrum teams within an Agile project environment
- Drive sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Manage project scope, timelines, and delivery through effective sprint and release planning
- Partner with Product Owners to refine and manage backlogs, remove blockers, and prioritise work
- Use tools such as Jira to track velocity, reporting, and continuous improvement
- Support governance, reporting, and stage gate processes in line with agency frameworks
- Coach and uplift teams in Agile and Scrum best practices
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and accountable team culture
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience delivering complex projects using Agile methodologies
- Strong understanding and practical application of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
- Experience working closely with Business Analysts to prepare user stories for sprints
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced, complex environments
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint
Desirable Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or certifications in Project Management, Agile, or related fields
- Experience delivering large-scale ICT transformation programs, ideally within Federal Government
- Exposure to technical projects involving data migration, case management, or information systems
