EL1 Project Manager - Workforce Change Consultation

The opportunity:
Our highly valued client is a federal government agency. They are seeking an EL1 level Project Manager with strong experience in Workforce Change, including managing and developing Consultation Plans for workforce change.

  • Richmond or Geelong location plus hybrid work-from-home
  • 12 month initial contract + likely extensions
  • Federal government – EL1 Level role, daily rate of $602.55 + super

The role:
As an EL1 Project Manager, you will report to the Director of Workforce Design and Transformation, and you will manage the development of consultation plans for workforce change. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing Consultation Plans for workforce change including reporting with key milestones and risks
  • Designing, developing and delivering key consultation activities, following the full cycle of consultation requirements in a government setting
  • Engaging expertly and meaningfully with the CPSU and related stakeholders
  • Developing, managing and implementing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency’s project management framework.
  • Contributing to project design, governance arrangements and operational integration.
  • Ensuring project deliverables and milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Researching, reviewing and evaluating projects in specific operational or technical areas.
  • Reporting on project outputs to stakeholders and overseeing regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
  • Preparing and reviewing written material including business cases, plans, reports and executive briefs and corporate documentation.
  • Undertaking budget management, monitoring expenditure and overseeing procurement and contract management activities.
  • Identifying, assessing, managing, escalating and monitoring project risks, issues and benefits, including developing treatment strategies.
  • Analysing project performance and coordinating quality management activities to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.

Skills and experience:
To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Strong experience as a Project Manager overseeing business change, organisational design/transformation/change, workforce transformation or similar
  • Strong experience in Developing Consultation Plans for workforce change, and designing, developing and delivering key consultation activities, following the full cycle of consultation requirements in a government setting
  • Core project management capabilities in reporting key milestones and risks
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills proven in large complex organisations
  • A solid background in government, allied health, disability or similar
