The opportunity:
Our highly valued client is a federal government agency. They are seeking an EL1 Product Manager to work with the Product Owner, SAS IMS (SAS Integrity Management System), engage with business users and SMEs, and translate solution concepts into actionable activities.

  • Richmond or Geelong location plus hybrid work-from-home
  • 12 month initial contract + 12 month extension, rates fully negotiable
  • Role only open to Australian Citizens – Federal government role

The role:
Your duties will include:

  • Assist the Product Owner, SAS IMS in managing and delivering projects with a high level of complexity or sensitivity
  • Coordinate and assume responsibility for project outcomes that have strategic or operational significance to the Agency
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice and support to the Product Owner IMS on project management and related activities
  • Ensure compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and standards
  • Engage with stakeholders to identify, conceptualise, and validate solutions; and provide handover and support for downstream delivery teams

Skills and experience:
To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Strong Product Management background
  • In depth knowledge of agile project management principles and practices and proven ability to develop and test concepts and prototypes to validate ideas and solutions
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, trong skills in managing and engaging with stakeholders, and high-level decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in applying design thinking principles to solve complex problems and innovate
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and it’s operational framework
  • Ability to conduct thorough research to inform project decisions and strategies
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking and User Centric Design principles
