The opportunity
Our client is a large federal government agency. They have a great opportunity for an experienced Master Scheduler to orchestrate and optimise program and project schedules across several large initiatives.

  • Richmond or Geelong based, with 3 days in the office per week
  • 12 months initial contract
  • Daily rate range up to $850 inc super

The role
As the Master Scheduler, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating and optimizing the scheduling processes to ensure efficient and effective project execution. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of project management principles. Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project and program schedules, incorporating input from various stakeholders, project managers, and team leads
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand project scope, objectives, and dependencies to create realistic and achievable schedules
  • Utilize industry-standard scheduling tools and software to build and update project and program timelines
  • Monitor and allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal project performance
  • Work closely with project managers and branch managers to identify resource constraints and recommend solutions
  • Conduct resource planning and analysis to optimize team efficiency
  • Identify and analyse critical paths within project schedules, highlighting potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies
  • Regularly review and update schedules to reflect changes in project scope, timelines, and resource availability
  • Facilitate regular communication among project teams to ensure awareness of schedule updates, changes, and potential impacts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate various project schedules and ensure alignment with overall organizational goals
  • Proactively identify potential scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, and risks, and propose solutions to mitigate these issues
  • Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to assess the impact of changes on project timelines and overall delivery

About you
To be considered for these roles you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting master scheduling for digital transformation projects, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change
  • Experience creating schedules and managing resource constraints in a large enterprise
  • Strong understanding of resource scheduling, and project management with the ability to create pragmatic schedules highlight issues for resolution such as resource constraints and dependencies on different skillsets
  • Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder management, and proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to achieve required outcomes
  • Experience of portfolio and project management (PPM) tools such as MS project, Clarizen and Jira
  • Relevant industry project management and scheduling related qualifications
