
EL1 Lead Data Platform Administrator
The opportunity:
Our highly valued client is a federal government agency. They are seeking an EL1 Lead Data Platform Administrator to lead the support of a newly implemented data platform and case management system.
- Richmond or Geelong location plus hybrid work-from-home
- 12 month initial contract + 12 month extension, rates fully negotiable
- Role only open to Australian Citizens – Federal government client
The role:
As the Lead Data Platform Administrator, you will leverage both technical capabilities in data and analytics platforms, and managerial capabilities relating to data governance and information management. Your duties may include:
- Implementing and shaping the organisation’s strategic use of data, and information management practices, including data access, data security, privacy and ethics
- Acting as a point of contact for data and information management leads in other divisions, and external organisations and partners
- Definition, implementation, leadership, and monitoring of the governance framework to meet the organisations obligations under regulation, law, or contracts
- Developing standards and guidelines for implementing data protection and disaster recovery functionality for all business applications and business data
- Providing expert advice and guidance to implement and improve storage management.
- Managing storage and backup systems to provide agreed service levels
- Creating, improving and supporting storage management services with optimal utilisation of storage resources, ensuring security, availability and integrity of data
- Advising on how data is been used to produce new insights
- Identifying new sources of administrative data as well as uses for that data
- Writing custom scripts and code (programming language) to source and combine administrative data
- Maintaining understanding of new trends and innovations relating to data (including Artificial Intelligence-based technologies)
- Communicating and implementing information management strategies and policies
- Developing organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for information and records management
- Identifying the impact of statutory, internal or external regulations on the organisation’s use of information and develops strategies for compliance
- Ensuring that incidents are handled according to agreed procedures
- Prioritising and diagnosing incidents, investigating causes of incidents and seeking resolution
- Contributes to testing and improving incident management procedures
- Producing reports using advanced statistical techniques
Skills and experience:
To succeed in this role you will need:
- Significant experience in leading administration and support of large data and analytics platforms
- Technical experience with SAS Viya, SAS Visual Investigator and/or SAS IMS
- Previous experience with case management systems, particularly related to payments fraud/fraud intelligence and analytics will be highly regarded
- Strong experience with managing data governance, policies, and information management
- Will have power to grant access to cases but is not a typical hands on admin role
- Current NV1 security clearance highly regarded
- A positive contemporary attitude to people with disability. It is highly desirable that applicants have an understanding or lived experience of disability.
