About the Role:
The EL1 Assistant Director Finance
is required to coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the NDIA’s objectives to “build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme”.

The position is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the NDIA to advance the NDIA’s interests across a range of forums.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain project work-break down (WBS) structure and governance process;
  • Produce monthly project reporting pack and associated analysis;
  • Review and update project budgets, actuals and forecast, including workforce and supplier;
  • Regular engagement with project/program leads on project spending/forecast and provide financial insights;
  • Ensure consistent project coding and financial reporting at project levels;
  • Collaborate with other enabling areas, such as HR, ICT and Strategy to facilitate project delivery;
  • Investigate project data anomalies and rectify issues;
  • Drive improvements on the current templates, processes and achieve better outcome;
  • Contribute to project related briefs, papers and other internal/external requests.

Skills and Experience
Key skills required for role/s:

  • Qualified Accountant;
  • Familiar with project reporting concept;
  • Proficient in using SAP system;
  • Advanced excel skills;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written);
  • Strong organisational skills;
  • Attention to details.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
